In this table you will find information about the movement behaviour of the Dutch population (excluding home residents) on Dutch territory. The travel behaviour is described as the number of journeys, the distance travelled and the duration of travel per inhabitant of the Netherlands per day and per year. These are all journeys within the Netherlands except for professional journeys (such as a taxi driver or postman) and except days on domestic and foreign holidays. They are not included in this table.
The travel behaviour is broken down by travel motives, travel characteristics (e.g. time of departure and day of the week) and regions.
Miles travelled abroad do not count. This means that cross-border movements at the border have been cut off and therefore the kilometres travelled abroad have not been taken into account.
