This table provides insight into the number of people with social security benefits per municipality, district and neighbourhood (2013 classification). These include persons with disability benefit, unemployment, old age, assistance and assistance-related benefits.
It is possible that a person is entitled to more than one benefit. These may include benefits of the same kind (e.g. two benefits under the Incapacity Insurance Act (WAO)) or two benefits of different types (such as a benefit under the Unemployment Act and a social assistance allowance). In the latter case, the person is included in both types of benefits, in the first case only once (with the WAO).
In the category of persons with a benefit (total), the person is of course counted only once.
Figures on the number of people with benefits per neighbourhood, district or municipality may differ slightly from figures published elsewhere on StatLine, by using the latest data from the Basic Persons Registration (BRP). Because different StatLine tables are updated at different times, it may happen that for one table a different version of the BRP is used than for another table. In that case, the latest published figures are the most accurate.
