Dataset description

This table shows the number and proportion of persons allocated to long-term care in the reporting year and the number of persons allocated at reference date. Until 2015, the number of persons awarded a pgb will be monitored by the General Act on Special Sickness Costs (AWBZ). As of 2015, long-term care will be financed by several laws: the Long-term Care Act (Wlz), the Social Support Act 2015, the Health Insurance Act and the Youth Act. From 2015 onwards, this table only monitors the number of persons awarded a pgb at the expense of the Wlz. These are only persons who are registered in the Basic Persons Registration (BRP). It is not known whether the pgb has actually been used for purchasing care. The figures are broken down by gender, age, function, base and region. As of reporting year 2016, the basis of the indication is no longer included in the pgb files. This is added from information from the CIZ; this provides a small number of unconnected persons, the basis of which remains unknown. As of 2018, the figures will no longer be broken down by function. Data available from: 2011 Status of the figures: The figures for the last year are provisional, the other figures are final. Amendments as of 31 October 2022: — The figures for reporting year 2020 have been finalised. — Provisional figures for 2021 have been added. When are new figures coming? The provisional figures shall be published no later than 12 months after the end of the reporting year. In the case of a new publication, the figures for the previous years are given the final status.
