CBS is moving towards a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where a person was born, besides where one’s parents were born. The word migration background is no longer used. The main classification of Western/Non-Westerns is replaced by a classification based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin. It can be decided that the origin classification will expire for a StatLine table. Status of the figures The figures until 2021 are final. The figures from January 2 022 to May 2022 are further provisional. The figures for the last three months are provisional. Changes as of 31 October 2022 —Adjusted May 2022 figures; — The provisional figures of August 2022 are added. When are new figures coming? The preliminary figures for September 2022 will come in November 2022.
