This table shows the supply and consumption of petroleum raw materials in balance form. Petroleum raw materials are crude oil, natural gas condensate and additives (semi-finished petrol and diesel). There are separate balance sheets for the raw materials intended for processing in the Netherlands and the raw materials intended for transit. The difference between these two flows is that import duties have been paid for the goods intended for processing in the Netherlands and not for the goods for transit.
The calculation of the offer is as follows: extraction plus petroleum production plus other sources plus imports minus exports plus stock changes. This is equal to the amount of energy consumed in the Netherlands during the same period.
From 1990 onwards, consumption in this table is further broken down by consumption as raw material for conversion into other petroleum products and as final consumption (after which no other energy carriers remain). For 1990, only consumption was distinguished as raw material for conversion.
