This publication contains a number of key figures on plant and animal gardens in the Netherlands, excluding gardens whose exploitation under— part of a larger whole, in particular universities, estate management and hospitality. For definitions see below. The information was obtained through the research Plants and Zoos. This research was held in 1997 and 1999. In the previous years, plants and zoos observed to a limited extent in the statistics Museums and the statistics Recreation centres, but could not be there as such to be distinguished.
