Population and population development per month; 1995-2018

Monthly, quarterly and annual figures of the size of the population of the Netherlands. The table includes numbers of live births, deceased persons, foreign migration, administrative corrections, persons moved within municipalities and persons moved between municipalities, closures and dissolutions of marriage and partnership registration (persons and events) and asylum applications (until 2011 statistical year). As of January 2010, a new production system will be used to process the messages from the municipal population registers. In this context, the following changes have been made: — For live births, from 2010 onwards, no provisional figures by grade number from the mother and marital status of the mother will be available. However, final numbers are added to the table each year. — Marriage closure is from 2010 inclusive of partnership registration. — The set of partnership registrations will no longer be supplemented in this table from 2010. — From 2010 onwards, married persons are inclusive of those who have entered into a partnership. As a result, an additional previous marital status (married) has been added. — Marriage dissolution is from 2010 including dissolutions of partnership. — From 2010 onwards, truly divorced persons are inclusive of persons separated from a partnership. — For persons moved within the Netherlands, as of 2010, no more numbers will be available in the family. Data available from January 1995 to October 2018. Status of the figures: All figures on asylum applications are final. Of the population figures, the figures for 1995 to 2017 are final. The figures as of 1 January 2018 are final, the other population figures for 2018 are provisional. The update of asylum applications in this table has been discontinued as of 2012.
