Population development; live born, deceased and migration by region

Population development in the Netherlands due to birth, mortality and migration to gender and region. In addition to national data, information is included by country, province, COROP area and municipality. The regional totals presented concern aggregations of municipalities. In case of border changes that cross different regional borders, the division of the municipalities is grouped according to the most recent situation. For example: for the municipality of Vianen, which has moved from the province of Zuid-Holland to the province of Utrecht on 1 January 2002, it is grouped in the table in the province of Utrecht. For the years 1960 to 1995, the sum of the regional totals is not equal to the figure of the Netherlands as a whole. This is due to the fact that in the period before 1986 some areas (‘The Northeastern Polder’ and ‘Public Body ZIJP’) had not yet been classified as municipal and in the period up to 1995, persons without permanent residence or residence were registered in a national register (Central Personal Records (CPR)). The residents involved are included in the figures of the Netherlands as a whole. Please note: When selecting one-year municipalities from this table, a Server Error can occur with the message ‘404- File or directory not found’. The reason is too long a URL. The notification can be prevented by selecting all municipalities or by selecting municipalities in blocks (a to l, m to z).
