Potential food production fruit

This map shows for each cell the potential agricultural production for a particular crop, expressed as a percentage of yield. This is based on the soil map and the land use map. This potential production is expressed on the basis of a rate of return. The map gives an overview of the spatial distribution of the suitability of parcels for agricultural production and gives an overview of the attainable levels of production per crop. The map contains relevant information for farmers, more specifically as a reference to assess own productivity and to estimate potential returns losses through own management. The map was produced for the Atlas Natural Capital by knowledge institutes RIVM and VITO (Belgium).
