ProRail has two reference systems: geocode and mileage ribbon. The kilometre is similar in both systems. Using the reference system, ProRail determines the location of objects. Of course, all these objects are stored in the Dutch coordinate system RD_new. WGS84 coordinates are stored as an attribute for a number of objects.
