This table contains data on the balance sheet composition of the provinces. The balance sheet is part of the financial statements of provinces. The table presents the balance sheets at the end of the year. The amounts are reported both in millions of euros and in euros per inhabitant. Data available from: 2004. Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional at first publication. If changes occur, this is due to the availability of new or updated data. Changes as of 16 December 2021: The preliminary figures for 2020 are included. The figures for 2019 are final. When publishing the preliminary data for reporting year 2018, the province of Utrecht did not yet have an unqualified audit report on its annual accounts. In the meantime, this is the case and the data of the province of Utrecht have been adjusted in such a way that they are now in conformity with the 2018 financial statements approved by the auditor. When are new figures coming? The new balance sheet figures shall be placed no later than 12 months after the reporting period. The figures can be adjusted on the basis of the availability of new or updated source material. In general, the adjustments are small in size. The adjustments are made when a new annual figure is added to the series.
