This table contains figures on the costs and benefits per task field (policy area) by province in millions of euros and in euros per inhabitant. The figures presented are based on data that corresponds to the definitions and classifications that the provinces themselves use in their administration and come from the provincial accounts. This data is provided to CBS via the Third Party Information Survey (Iv3). The rules for this survey are laid down in the Decree on Budget and Responsibility of Provinces and Municipalities (BBV).
Data available from: 2017
Status of the figures:
The figures in this table are provisional at first publication. The figures become final when figures for the following year are added to the series.
Changes as of 16 December 2021:
The preliminary figures for 2020 are included.
The figures for 2019 are final.
Province of Utrecht
When publishing the preliminary data for reporting year 2018, the province of Utrecht did not yet have an unqualified audit report on its annual accounts. In the meantime, this is the case and the data of the province of Utrecht have been adjusted in such a way that they are now in conformity with the 2018 financial statements approved by the auditor.
When are new figures coming?
The new figures from the provincial accounts shall be placed no later than 12 months after the reporting period.
The figures can be adjusted on the basis of the availability of new or updated source material. In general, the adjustments are small in size. The adjustments are made when a new annual figure is added to the series.
Due to changes in the source data, Information for third parties (Iv3), the data from the 2017 account is not entirely comparable to the data for previous years. In the administrations of provinces, the typing of the burdens and benefits by task field is sometimes revised, which can prevent (small) shifts between task fields between 2017 and 2018.
