Dataset description

This table provides information on the number of library organisations, the collection, the number of members and the loans. Over the years, library organisations consist of public libraries, provincial service organisations (PSO, known from 2015 as provincial support institutions, POI) and popular libraries. Until 2001, popular libraries were also included in the figures.Until 2005 the figures include PCAs. Data available from: 1910 Status of the figures: The 2020 figures are provisional. The other figures have been definitively established. Changes as of 8 July 2021: The final figures for 2019 are set. The preliminary figures for 2020 have been added. When will the new figures come? The provisional figures for the year 2021 will be published in July 2022 and the final figures for the year 2020 will be placed.
