For the management of the public space, Amsterdam needs a clear definition of the objects to be managed. The formally established public space is not sufficient for this, because it is based on the award of official street names (decision) by the municipal council. As a result, not all objects to be managed are part of the administrative public space. For this reason, OIS has derived the ‘manageable public space’ from the basic registrations of large-scale topography (BGT) and Kadaster (BRK).
