Dataset description

This table contains figures on the number of pupils in special schools (basic and continuing). The data can be broken down by gender, migration background, cluster and residential region. The children in the special schools are divided into three clusters (groups): — Cluster 1 (visual limitations); — Cluster 2 (auditive and communicative limitations); — Other clusters (severe developmental disorders and physical and intellectual impairments); The following types of education are not covered by the clusters: — special primary education; — primary and secondary education for children with learning and education difficulties (lom); — primary and secondary education for children with difficulty in learning (mlk); — primary education for children threatened in their development (IOBK). Data available: from 2011/'12. Status of the figures: The figures for the school years from 2011/'12 to 2020/'21 are final and those for the school year 2021/'22 are provisional. Changes as of 24 February 2023: None, this table has been discontinued. As a result, the provisional figures for academic year 2021/'22 will no longer be made definitive. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed up by the Students in Special Schools table; origin, residential region. See paragraph 3.
