Dataset description
This file contains silence areas as laid down in the Environmental Regulation of the Province of Groningen 2016. In this Environment Regulation, we have included rules to protect these areas.
Silence is a core characteristic of our province. We have identified three quiet areas: the Lauwersmeer, the Wadden Sea and parts of the shore of the Schildmeer. In addition, we have identified two areas of focus for silence and darkness, where we take additional incentives. These focus areas are located in the municipality of Vlagtwedde (especially in Westerwolde) and in the municipality of Winsum to the west of the provincial road Groningen-Winsum.
