Dataset description

This table contains outcomes on crimes recorded by the police. In addition to the absolute number of crimes, the table also shows the number of crimes per 1000 inhabitants in the municipality or region concerned. In addition, the table shows the number of crimes that have since been clarified and the number of suspects registered in these crimes. The figures are broken down by municipality of committing, police region, type of crime and year of reporting. It may happen that the municipality of committing within a region is not known. Unknown municipalities within the region are not listed separately, but are included in the total of the region. When looking at the data, a number of points are important. The data per municipality is presented for all years according to the municipal classification of 1 January 2013. If CBS considers that the figures per 1000 inhabitants do not allow a responsible conclusion when comparing municipalities or regions, the cell in question is left empty. The crime occurs too little and/or the municipality or region concerned is too small in terms of population for comparison. In the period 2008-2009, the police regions moved to the registration system Basic Provision Enforcement (BVH). This transition may give rise to unexpected fluctuations in the data during this period. In the Rotterdam-Rijnmond region, the number of registered demolitions decreased relatively more in 2010 compared to 2009 than in other regions. For the whole of the Netherlands, the number of destruction fell by 16 %, for Rotterdam-Rijnmond by 49 %. The decline in destruction in 2010 is the result of two policy initiatives in the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Police Region: 1. Further agreements have been made with the municipalities within the Rotterdam-Rijnmond region for 2010 on reporting destruction in the public domain. As a result, the number of clustered declarations of damage in the public domain increased. As a result, the number of registered destruction fell mainly in the municipalities of Spijkenisse and Brielle. 2. Analysis of Internet demolition declarations (a total of 7,900) showed that 6,700 cases were about embarrassment. Because embarrassment is a violation and not a crime, these cases have been left out of the registration of reported crimes. This was done in 2010 to make the most efficient use of the detection capacity and to focus on the right things. This also reduced the number of registered destructions. Moreover, in 2011, according to national policy, baldness was again registered under destruction. The total decrease in the number of registered destructions in Rotterdam-Rijnmond region in 2010 was 49 %. The estimated share of this as a result of the agreements with the board is 10 %. The remaining 39 % is the result of the policy initiative referred to in point 2. Data available from 2005 to 2012. Status of the figures The figures for the years 2005-2010 are final. The figures for 2011 are further provisional. The figures for 2012 are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, the figures for 2011 and 2012 are no longer definitive. Changes as of 28 March 2014 None, this table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed by registered crime; type of crime, region (2014 classification). See paragraph 3.
