Renewable energy is energy from wind, hydropower, sun, soil, outdoor air heat, heat from just milked milk and biomass. In this table, renewable energy consumption is expressed in two ways:
1. Gross final consumption
2. Avoided consumption of fossil primary energy
In addition, it is indicated how much CO2 emissions are avoided by the consumption of renewable energy. The figures are broken down by energy source/technology and by application (electricity, heat and transport).
Data available from 1990 to 2013.
Status of the figures:
This table gives final figures up to 2013, calculated according to the Protocol Monitoring Renewable Energy (2010, AgencyNL).
Changes as of 29 June 2015:
None, this table has been discontinued because the method has changed. This table is followed by "Renewable energy; final consumption and avoided fossil energy consumption”. See paragraph 3.
When will there be new figures:
No longer applicable.
