The table provides data on research activities and development (R & D) of companies in the Netherlands. This concerns: — expenditure incurred on behalf of the R & D with its own staff; — the own R & D staff, shown in numbers of working years. The data for the period 1996-2001 refer to holdings with 10 and more employees. The reference date is 31 December. The data are broken down by industry (industry, services and other industries) and part of the country. Data available from: 1996 Status of the figures: The figures are final. Changes as of 17 March 2009: The table has been discontinued.
