Robust water system — Beekdalen (Environmental Vision 2014) (history)

Version of Robuust water system — Beekdalen adopted by Provincial Staten van Drenthe on 2 July 2014.The province of Drenthe wants to restore the natural resilience of the water system to cope with extreme conditions. For this, the water system needs more space than at present. The brook valleys play an important role in this. Water naturally accumulates in the brook valleys. The province no longer wants to be able to dispose of this water everywhere as quickly as possible, which is why the stream valleys will be able to flood regularly by 2030, helping to prevent flooding elsewhere.
