With the RUDIFUN data, governments, spatial researchers, planners and urban planners can start researching the relationship between spatial densities and mixing of living with other functions on the one hand and urban dossiers such as mobility, livability and real estate market on the other. In the field of urbanisation, density and functional mixing are recurring themes that are related to, for example, sustainability, mobility, liveability and real estate prices. The PBL has developed a method to automate the calculation of spatial densities expressed in FSI (Floor Space Index) and GSI (Ground Space Index) and their derivatives L (Layers) and OSR (Open Space Ratio) to calculate land in a generic manner. These indexes are offered in the RUDIFUN1 dataset according to NEN9300 on the scale levels of building block, neighbourhood, district and municipality. This is a preliminary dataset. With follow-up research, the PBL wants to optimise the method.
