Dataset description

This stock contains salvage areas as defined in the Environmental Regulation of the Province of Groningen 2016. In this Environment Regulation, we have included rules for the use of the land in salvage areas. Salvage areas are intended to allow and temporarily store water in the event of flooding (high borehole levels) in order to prevent flooding or breaking of boreholes elsewhere. If possible, we also provide storage areas with other functions (e.g. nature, recreation). Salvage areas are used more often than once in a hundred years on average.
