Recommended indexing service price index:
CBS recommends using the 2010 = 100 series for indexing.
In addition to the new long series of indices with reference year 2010=100, CBS also publishes the series with reference year 2006 = 100. This series runs from the 1st quarter of 2006 to the end of 2011. The indices of both series differ due to the use of another base year. The development of both series is the same between 2006 and 2010. The development in 2010 and 2011 differs due to the use of a different weighting scheme. The weighting schedule of the 2010=100 series has been adapted to the changed market situation. CBS therefore advises to use this series for indexing.
