Dataset description

Fresh surface water is used by agriculture for irrigation of agricultural crops. For this purpose, Delta Programme Fresh Water has determined the total amount of water that can be supplied and the final shortage of fresh water for this purpose. The results can be presented for 5 sub-areas from which the Netherlands is made up of the sums that Delta Programme has carried out fresh water. The Wadden Islands are not part of the analyses. (numbers in m³/summer half-years). The map shows the water shortage for irrigation in an extremely dry year, as calculated by Delta Programme Sweet Water using NHI (Netherlands Hydrological Instrumentarium)
