This table contains data on unaccompanied minors (AMVs). The figures are broken down by gender, age and nationality. Amv’s were formerly known as ama (single minor asylum seeker).
If an AMV needs protection, he or she is eligible for an asylum permit. If protection is not the case, the AMV must return to the country of origin. This is only possible if the AMV can be well received in the country of origin, for example with family or in a shelter. AMVs under the age of 15 who are unable to return to the country of origin may, subject to certain conditions, obtain an external debt permit.
