Sky brightness Drenthe with greenhouse lighting on (2015-2016). The greatness of luminance (brightness) has different units and they are shown in the map. The unit of candela per square meter is the unit that lighting experts use to measure how much light is radiating on something. The unit used mcd/m² is a thousandth cd/m². The unit magnitude is used by astronomers. The brighter the sky, the higher the number in candela per square meter, the more light comes from the sky.
