The Social Monitor is a handy selection of relevant data on the
daily life of the Dutch population. This selection consists of a
fifteen central aspects of the lives of Dutch people and how these
changed over time.
The Social Monitor may be of interest to policy bodies and
social interest groups. In addition, the publication may be useful
for, among other things, students and journalists.
The fifteen distinct aspects are:

3. Living environment
4. Crime
5. Education
6. Position in the labour market
7. Working conditions
8. Mobility
9. Income
10. Consumption
11. Social relations
12. Spending free time
13. Health & Health
14. Political and religious participation
15. Unpaid labour
For each of the fifteen distinct aspects are some (often five)
key figures selected. In addition, CBS publishes on Statline another
a large number of other data on each of these 15 aspects.
Where possible, a distinction is made according to gender.
