Soil fertility for agriculture

What do you see? The soil fertility map divides the Dutch soils into natural soil fertility. Fertile soils have naturally beneficial chemical, biological and physical properties for the production of agricultural crops due to their origin and parent material. In the less fertile soils, these properties are not optimal, these soils are originally poor and often have a low pH. What’s the value? A maximum yield can be achieved on fertile soils with minimal aids and minimum environmental stress. Who is this important to? This map provides important information for national governments (EZ, E & M), provinces, municipalities and organisations that make area plans.
