This map shows the resulting spatial distribution of the reliability of the maps over setting sensitivity, minimum foundation depth and suitability for building. In the map, reliability is divided into three classes, from most reliable to least reliable. The reliability of the maps depends partly on the density of the soil information used. In areas with high drilling density, the reliability of the cards can be expected to be higher than in areas with low drilling density. In addition, the drilling depth is important: a bore that has pierced the total Holocene package gives more information than a bore that has pierced only a part of that package. At the same time, the variation in the structure of the substrate plays a role. In areas where soil structure varies little, less drilling can be achieved than in areas with heterogeneous soil build-up. Both factors have been considered in relation to each other. These factors work through the reliability of all maps constructed using the 3D subsurface model. For the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, which has been part of the province of Utrecht since 1 January 2019, no data is yet available.
