This table contains per type of education/cluster data on the age of pupils in special schools and cultural minorities (up to and including the 2009/'10 school year).
From 1 August 2003 the children in the special schools are divided into four clusters (groups):
— Cluster 1 (visual limitations);
— Cluster 2 (auditive and communicative limitations);
— Cluster 3 (physical and intellectual impairments);
— Cluster 4 (severe developmental disorders).
The following types of education are not covered by the clusters:
— special primary education;
— primary and secondary education for children with learning and education difficulties (lom);
— primary and secondary education for children with difficulty in learning (mlk);
— primary education for children threatened in their development (IOBK).
From the school year 1998/'99, the Law on Primary Education (WPO), the Law on Secondary Education (WVO) and the Law on Expertise Centres (WEC) are in force. The four types of education mentioned, which are not among the
clusters fall, then switched to regular primary and secondary education.
