This table provides annual figures on the number of self-employed start-ups in the Netherlands. This concerns all persons aged 15 or over who start as self-employed persons in one year. The data can be broken down by gender, type of self-employment (in the start-up year), socio-economic position one year before the start of self-employment, industry (SBI 2008) in which people start and personal characteristics age, migrant background and household position. Data available from 2008 to 2017. Status of the figures: The figures in this table are definitive. Changes as of 14 January 2022: None, this table has been stopped. When will there be new figures? No longer applicable. This table is followed by the table Starting self-employed persons; position year earlier, SBI 2008, features. The figures in this new table are more consistent with other labour market figures for self-employed workers. See paragraph 3.
