The map layer of protected greenery shows parks, gardens and cemeteries protected as a national monument. A greenery is a construction of paths, water features and plantations.
A national monument is included in the Rijksmonumentenregister as kept by the National Cultural Heritage Office (RCE).
The map is under development and will be gradually replenished. This first version shows about two thirds of the nationally protected greens. These are the national monuments with their own monument number (i.e. not the parks and gardens described in the register together with a building under one monument number). Defensive works are and are not recorded on this map layer (unless converted into city park).
Not all surfaces show the correct or legal scope of the national monument: the surfaces with an interrupted external border are only indicative! They are based on cadastral information from the Monuments Register and therefore sometimes too large. The surfaces with extended external border have been taken from the National Monuments Register and have been established.
