The Caribbean Netherlands; ICT use of persons: personal characteristics

This table contains figures on people’s access to and use of the Internet. The following topics will be addressed: Internet access in the household, type of internet connection and when people last used the Internet. For people who have used the internet in the last 3 months, the table contains data on how often the Internet has been used in the last 3 months, the place where the internet has been used and internet activities. Breakdowns by gender, age and educational level are also possible. The data are available for both the Caribbean Netherlands and the individual islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. The investigation is a sample examination. This means that the figures shown are estimates, for which reliability margins apply. These margins are also included in the table. The figures refer to persons aged 15 years or older, unless otherwise stated. In 2017, the questions about ICT use were only asked to people who have the internet at home. The figures are therefore not comparable between 2013 and 2017. The Omnibus survey was conducted in 2013 for the first time on Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius in the month of June and the first week of July. The Omnibus survey was conducted for the second time on Bonaire in the months of October and November 2017, and in the period January to March 2018 on Saba and Sint-Eustatius. Changes as of 18 April 2019: The underlying encodings of the classifications (Marges) used in this table have been adjusted. These are now in line with the standard coding established by CBS.
