Dataset description

This table contains figures of widowers among the population of the Netherlands. The figures are exclusive of persons left behind as a result of the death of the partner in registered partnerships. The table distinguishes the following data: — widowing men and women by age (on 31 December) in case of marriage and marriage (on 31 December); — widowing men by age (on 31 December) in the case of widowing and marriage duration (on 31 December); — widowing women by age (on 31 December) in the case of widowing and marriage duration (on 31 December). Data available from: 1996 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of 21 May 2021: The final figures for 2020 have been added. When are new figures coming? The figures for 2021 and 2022 will be published in the second quarter of 2023.
