The table provides quarterly figures on the number of persons waiting (shorter and longer than the Treeknorm) for long-term care (both hospital and non-hospital) under the Long-term Care Act (Wlz) with and without bridging care. The figures are measured quarterly on the first day of January, April, July and October and are available for the care and care, disability and mental health care sectors. The figures refer to care in kind, not to care paid out of personal budgets.
The figures are broken down by waiting status. Clients with a Wlz indication will be registered in the active waiting and non-active waiting categories until 2021. As of 2021, the new Watch statuses have been actively placed and urgent places entered, in addition, the waiting status is inactively replacing with the status waiting for preference. There is a temporary transition situation in spring 2021, in which shifts from old to new Watch statuses can still take place.
The figures in this table are also broken down by care gravity package (ZP).
The figures in this table are derived from the Watchlists Wlz (Information Standard Act on Long-term Care or iWlz) which have been provided by health care offices to the Zorginstituut Nederland (ZINL).
Due to the introduction of the new release of the messaging traffic (iWlz 2.0), data on active-waited persons (shorter than Treeknorm) with reference date 1 April 2018 are not included, and the figures for active (shorter and longer than Treeknorm) and non-active waiting with reference date 1 July 2018 are missing. By reconnecting with administrations, waiting list figures on 1 October may deviate from the figures with reference date 1 April 2018.
Data available from: 2015
Status of the figures:
The quarterly figures for the most recent reporting year are provisional. The remaining quarterly figures are final. When the first quarter of a new reporting year is published, the figures for all previous quarters become definitive.
Changes as of 9 March 2022:
The provisional figures for 2021 have been made definitive and provisional figures for Q1 2022 have been added.
As of 1 January 2022, the transition to the new Watch statuses ‘urgent places’ and ‘active places’ has ended, as a result of which the waiting status ‘actively waiting’ is no longer applicable from this date.
Changes as of 5 October 2021:
The figures in this new table are a continuation of the table ‘Waighting in long-term care’; sector, quarter, 2015-2021' (see paragraph 3) and contains figures on
waiting for zzp (and not broken down by intra- and extramural). Due to changes in the Watch Statuses, the topics have been expanded with the Watch Statuses ‘Urgent places shorter-longer than the Treeknorm’ and ‘Actively place shorter-longer than the Treeknorm’. The waiting status ‘Not actively waiting’ has been replaced by the status ‘Wait for preference’.
When will there be new figures?
The provisional figures at reference date 1 April 2022 shall be published in the 2nd quarter of 2022.
