Top10SMART (Scalable Multi Allocation Raster Topography) Netherlands 2009

Top10SMART is a scale-independent grid version of Top10NL topography. The raster file has 4 layers: The base layer is almost identical to the content of Top10NL and contains about 35 basic legends. The second layer contains locks, ditches, wood walls, row of trees and hedges. This is an extension of the base layer with additional legendary units. The third layer is an aggregated layer with 7 legend units: Urban, Grassland, Buildingland, Water, Forests, Sand, and Heath. The units of approximately 10 ha have been assembled across the boundaries of local infrastructure. The main infrastructure (highways and railways) has been buffered with 50 m and added as a fourth layer. This allows the main infrastructure to be displayed in grid on the 1:250,000 scale. With the 4 layer layout of the grid, legends are compiled for different scales. With Top10Smart, legends can be used for different scales, there are 4 formats created for 1:10.000 to 1: 250.000. The Top10Smart 2.5x2.5 m grid can be drawn very quickly as a SDE layer or in file-based Geodatabase in ArcGIS/ArcIMS.
