Total transport performance of the Dutch population, 1985-2007

In this table you will find information on the total number of kilometres travelled in the Netherlands by mode of transport to region. As a basis for the calculation of these so-called transport performance are the research results of the OVG/MON is used. There are also some adjustments made, such as estimation of holiday mobility by mode of transport (within the Netherlands by the Dutch population). The mobility data for the years 1985-2003 were obtained from the annual survey carried out by the Central Statistical Office (CBS) Research Relocation Behavior (OVG). Since 2004, mobility data have been from the Mobility Research Netherlands (MON) of Transport Service and Shipping (DVS), part of the Ministry of Transport and Water management.
