Treatment of urban waste water; process data sludge dewatering

This table contains figures for urban or public sewage treatment plants under management at water boards. This table provides information on the sub-process of sludge dewatering. In order to facilitate further transport and processing, the sewage sludge released during the treatment process must be dewatered. The publication provides information per dewatering method on the quantities of sludge and the average percentages of dry matter before and after the dewatering process. Note bene: no national totals or averages can be given because certain lots of sludge go through several dewatering steps. The addition of the quantities per method thus results in a double counting. The dimension method of sludge dewatering was extended in 2018 with a new item: Screw press. Data available from: 1981. Publication from 2016 once every two years. Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of 12 May 2022: The table is supplemented by figures for 2020. When are new figures coming? The 2022 figures will be published in March 2024.
