This table provides information on the extent to which the Dutch population aged 15 and over has confidence in random other people. This trust in fellow human beings has been established by asking if other people are generally to be trusted or that you cannot be too careful in dealing with people. The table shows the proportion that other people generally find to be trusted. Persons who have not replied because they do not know or do not want to say the answer are disregarded.
In addition, the table contains data on trust in various organisations and their functioning. These institutions are as follows: churches, army, judges, press, police, House of Representatives, civil servants, banks, large companies and the European Union. It has been asked whether the respondent has a lot, rather much, not so much or no confidence at all. The table shows the proportion that has a lot or a lot of confidence in these organisations. Here too, persons who did not give a reply were disregarded.
