Unemployed labour force; duration of unemployment, region 2001-2014

This table deals with the unemployment duration of the unemployed. A distinction is made between the unemployed who are unemployed; — 0 to 6 months, — 6 to 12 months, — 12 to 24 months, — 24 months or more unemployed. This makes it possible to determine the number of short-term and long-term unemployed. Short-term unemployed are 0 to 12 months unemployed and long-term unemployed 12 months or more unemployed. The figures in the table can be distinguished by country and province. The duration of unemployment is the number of months a person is unemployed. This is determined on the basis of: — the moment of search for work and — the moment of termination of the last job. The figures in the table are based on the Occupational Population Survey (EBB). New revised tables on the labour force were published on 26 February 2015. This revision of the statistics of the labour force has two parts. The definitions have been adapted to the internationally agreed definitions and data collection has been improved by being the first statistical office in Europe to survey via the Internet.
