This table contains figures on the use of plant protection products in agriculture. More specifically, it concerns the protection of plant production in arable and horticultural sectors. The figures are broken down by crop and type of application.
In addition to the total amount of resources used, the use per hectare and the use per crop sector shall also be indicated. In addition, the table provides data on the number of plants using plant protection products and the area on which they are used.
The use includes the use by wage holdings on the farm (work by third parties).
Data are also available to CBS on the use of plant protection products by active substance and type of application and on non-chemical control such as mechanical and biological control methods. These figures can be found in three other tables (see paragraph 3. Links to relevant tables and articles).
Data available for the years 1995, 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2008.
Status of the figures: all figures are final.

No, no, no. This table has been discontinued.
Changes as of 4 December 2014
During a check of the data files, a number of errors were found in the table. These have now been corrected. Most of the errors are the year 2008.
The quantitative biggest changes occur in the use of plant protection products in the arable cultivation sector and within it in the crops sugar beet and chicory. There are also changes in the growing sector of vegetables under glass with the crops tomatoes and cucumbers and the cultivation sector flowers under glass with the crops roses and orchids.
Finally, a number of definitions have also been tightened.
When are new figures coming?
This table is no longer supplemented. A new table with figures for 2012 has been published (see paragraph 3. Links to relevant tables and articles).
