BIBSYS Authority Register contains approximately 2 million entries on people used in connection with the Library base of the BIBSYS consortium. The authorities have basic information recorded as preferred names, name variants, years and more. The authorities also contain relevant identifiers from other authority registers such as Isni and VIAF. The read monkey is available to everyone, while operations such as creation, updating, and deleting authorities require an API key. API key is distributed by Unit, section for library services. The national authority register for a person is a genuine subset of BIBSYS authority register. There are special rules relating to who can update authorities in the National Authority Register.
