Dataset description
Digital narration was established in the 2009 Cultural Heritage Year to stimulate the use of digital narratives as a means of communication and methods in the dissemination of cultural heritage. Digitally told contains personal stories related to cultural heritage — often the exciting and different stories — stories that are startling, engaging, difficult, funny or revealing. 4,658 stories have been published in Digitally Told. In January 2016, Digitalt was told to end, and all the content was transferred to DigitaltMuseum. Digitally told contains the following data elements: — the narrative itself — text, images, audio or video — or combinations of these media types — location fixing — county, municipality, address, place names or coordinates — categories and keywords — any user comments to the story Data from Digital told is available via Norvegiana’s API. This API delivers data on individual objects in xml, json or kml format. A large proportion is sited with coordinates (geographical decimal degrees and UTM 33). The API is open and no key is required. The license (i.e. rights to reuse) is at the post level, and will thus vary from post to post in the data set. Norvegiana and the individual datasets are described in the notes Norvegiana and KNreise & Nndash; data model, content and databases, API.
