The fairway is given through the Regulations relating to the paternal leader (the Farled Regulations). The entire Norwegian coast is currently covered by a standardised reference system of different fairways categories. The fairway structure includes the network of seafarers’ transport vessels and is a national geographical reference system for measures within management, planning, development and operational activities in the coastal zone.
