The data set shows all facilities in Norway that fall under the Major Accident Regulations (regulations on measures to prevent and limit the adverse effects of major accidents in enterprises where hazardous chemicals occur). About 350 Norwegian businesses are regulated by the Major Accident Regulations. This is largely process industry, chemical industry, tank plant and explosive bearings. The Major Accident Regulations implement the requirements imposed on businesses under the EU directive Seveso III, and are enforced by the following authorities: The Norwegian Environment Agency, the Norwegian Directorate for Labour Inspection, the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning (DSB), the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway and the Norwegian Industrial Safety Organisation.
The data set is only available for use in municipal and regional emergency preparedness, land-use planning and building case management and only by direct request to DSB v/ [email protected] or [email protected]
