Rig areas are represented as surfaces and indicate areas suitable for longer anchoring/storage of offshore installations. The areas are the basis for the Norwegian Coastal Administration’s safeguarding of important rig areas, and will, among other things, be linked to the Norwegian Coastal Administration’s plan and administrative work pursuant to the Planning and Building Act.
