**A.1 — Estimated number of emergency episodes****:** Somatory of emergency services episodes.
**A.2 — Average waiting time between screening and first medical observation (hospital emergency network):** Numerator: Sum of the time elapsed between the Manchester screening and the first medical observation for each of the emergency episodes; Denominator: Count of emergency incidents.
**A.3 — Rate of emergency episodes diagnosed with respiratory infection (hospital emergency network):** Numerator: Count of emergency episodes with influenza, flu syndrome or other respiratory infections; Denominator: Count of emergency incidents.
__~~~~**Remarks:** **A.1 -** In services that do not report on certain days, an estimate of episodes is made using the following formula:
[Estimate of episodes for emergency service X on day Y] =
[Estimate NSI of the number residents for the area of influence of the Emergency Service X in the year of day Y] x [Episodes emergency reported by all emergency services on day Y]
/[estimate NSI residents for the area of influence of all emergency services reporting on day Y].
In the denominator of the metric **A.2** only the emergency episodes in the emergency services reporting data related to “Manchester screening” and the denominator of the metric **A.3** are counted only the emergency episodes in the emergency services that report episodes with coding of diagnoses.
