Marine Trash Monitoring Program on Beaches — 2016

This report presents the information collected in the 2016 campaigns (4 campaigns/region/beach) and for the data assessments that were considered relevant, the results of the previous three-year years (2013-2015) were taken into account. The results obtained in 2016 do not differ substantially from those found in previous years, while a scenario that falls within the scenarios identified in other Contracting Parties to the OSPAR Convention continues to be maintained and although there is some variation in terms of typology of marine litter identified from region to region according to the typology of the beach, all present in the area of 100 m and 1 km the class of Plastics as the material (waste) marine) identified in greater quantity, confirming previous trends.
