Municipal Sustainability Index

The report on the Municipal Sustainability Index was offered by CESOP to the Municipality of Oeiras in July 2019. The Municipal Sustainability Index allows each municipality to obtain the diagnosis of its territory through benchmarking against other municipalities, identifying targets and indicators associated with each of the 17 SDGs of the UN 2030 Agenda, monitoring its evolution to date. The lack of locally disaggregated data, as well as outdated data, implies that the assessment of each SDG at municipal level is sometimes dependent on too few indicators, which limits the scope of the information that implements the SDG and, at the same time, causes problems in the distribution of values between municipalities.
