National PCB Report and Inventory — Years 2015 Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polychlorinated terphenyls (PCTs), generally referred to as PCBs, are chemicals that until the mid-1970s had extensive application in transformers, condensers and other electrical equipment. Particular attention has been paid to them from an environmental point of view in view of their pollution potential, and their marketing and use are currently subject to restrictions due to risks to human health and the environment.
